In the framework of the summer courses of the International University Menéndez Pelayo (UIMP) in Santander, this year the Foundation Fernando Pombo has organized a course on a highly topical subject: «The criminal proceedings: Judges as Investigators versus a Guarantors of Due Process?. The role of the Public Prosecutor «.

The course intends to make a theoretical and practical analysis of the current status of investigations and prosecutions in the criminal proceedings, the guarantees of the investigation and to study the approaching legislative proposals, so we can get closer to the European criminal proceedings.

Besides the participation of the most relevant political authorities on justice and investigation, we will also count on the presence of significant legal and prosecution professionals who have significant responsibilities in the administration of justice, as well as leading legal professionals and academics, some of which have participated in the preparation of draft legislation. Finally, we will have an international vision of the topic, with the aim of learning more for such experiences.
