Ana Higuera runs the Clearing House of the Fernando Pombo Foundation from 2014 co-counselling in projects designed for the involvement of pro bono lawyers, law students and legal clinics for legal initiatives with social impact.
Ana is an expert in Employment law and was particularly notable as coordinator in 2010 of a very relevant legal reform for children with severe illness that has protected more than 8,000 families up to date, leading a collaborative team of pro bono lawyers, professors and medical experts.
Ana is also a lecturer at the Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICADE) since 1998, and collaborates regularly with other universities as lecturer and also coordinating legal clinic projects.
She started her career in one of the most awarded law firm in Spain, Uría Menéndez, where she was a lawyer in the employment group for more than 15 years (1997-2014). She was ranked in Chambers and Best Lawyers directories as leading lawyer for several years. Ana is a regular speaker in seminars and conferences and has participated in numerous publications.
Ana has been shortlisted for the Pro Bono Award in 2017, granted by the International Bar Association (IBA).
