The Fernando Pombo Foundation was invited to participate in the First Congress of the Madrid Bar Association, a forum created to analyze the ongoing legislative changes and their impact on the performance of the legal profession; to know the actual situation of leading issues, to take a close look into the services provided by the Association and to exchange professional experiences.
The Foundation was represented by its general manager, Carmen Pombo, who participated in the Table: “Social Responsibilities of the Legal Profession (SRLP). The social role of the legal profession: pro bono and the defense of human rights”.
She explained the Foundation’s activities on SRLP and shared the Foundation’s vision on how lawyers can get involved in the fight against poverty.
The table was formed by Todd Crider, associate, Simpson Thatcher & Barlett LLP in New York and Vice-Chair, Cyrus Vance Center for International Justice of the City Bar Association; Andrés Conde Sole, general manager of Save the Children Spain; and Alejandro Alonso Dregui, member of the governing body of the Bar Association of Madrid.
