Promote the legal profession`s engagement with the rights of the underprivileged
Social responsibility in the legal profession covers a wide variety of areas: pro bono work, professional ethics, responsible management of human resources and professional development, all within the ambit of respect for and promotion of human rights, the rule of law, access to justice, good governance and environmental responsibility.
The Fernando Pombo Foundation promotes SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY IN THE LEGAL PROFESSION by:
- Promoting and defending human rights, the rule of law and democratic values.
- Providing free legal assistance by way of pro bono representation for persons and institutions which, for a variety of reasons, may not qualify for assistance from bar associations, as well as fostering professional ethics, good practices and strong governance criteria.
- Activities focused on corporate social responsibility: volunteer work, social action, community service, environmental responsibility, etc.
