Training session at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid

The Fernando Pombo Foundation took part for the second consecutive year in the Master’s Degree for Admission to the Practice of Law at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, giving a talk on the social function of lawyers in the Fernando Pombo Foundation.

This talk, given by Carmen Pombo and Rafael Merino, director and project coordinator of the Foundation, respectively, was divided into three blocks: the first one analysed the major global challenges and the role of lawyers; the second one addressed the social function of lawyers from the perspective of professional ethics; and the third explained the mission and initiatives of the Fernando Pombo Foundation with regards to the foregoing. At the end, the students worked on a case study concerning the key aspects that lawyers must take into account for the implementation by companies of the UN Guiding Principles for Business and Human Rights.
