On October 24, the Foundation participated in the congress entitled “A Legal Profession for the 2030 Agenda and Sustainable Development Goals”, organized by the General Council of Spanish Lawyers (CGAE, its Spanish acronym).
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a new international 2015-2030 UN blueprint for ending poverty, protecting the planet and ensuring that all people enjoy peace and prosperity, as part of a new sustainable development agenda.
As lawyers, we have a leading role in achieving all the SDGs, specifically Goal 16: “Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions”. With this objective, we work with a network of relevant institutions in the field of the rule of law, justice and human rights, promoting initiatives at the local and international level in the legal sector.
For the Foundation it is an honor to collaborate with the CGAE in this congress and to contribute our knowledge and experience to promote the active participation of the Spanish legal profession in the achievement of the SDGs.
