Date: December 18, 19, 23 and 27, 2013.
Lugar de celebración: Madrid.
This year, Gómez-Acebo & Pombo will celebrate Volunteer Day at the Banco de Alimentos de Madrid (the Madrid Food Bank).
Why the Banco de Alimentos de Madrid?
Because of all the hungry people in Madrid. We see them every day.
The BANCO DE ALIMENTOS de Madrid “fights hunger and waste” and works to “raise social awareness of the existence of hunger in the world”.
Approximately 600,000 people in the Community of Madrid live below the poverty line. In 2012, the Banco de Alimentos distributed about 13,000 tons of food among 500 charitable organizations, which in turn helped more than 100,000 people.
What does this volunteer work involve?
It involves working in a warehouse, helping to receive and deliver food to charitable organizations, classifying the food that comes in from “operación kilo” or any other tasks that may have to be completed that day.
Do I have to take food?
It’s not obligatory, but always welcome.
You can choose from among the following days: December 18, 19 23 or 27, from 9.00 to 13.30.
There is a maximum number of persons per day.
Any Gómez-Acebo & Pombo employee can sign up, as well as friends and family.
At the Banco de Alimentos de Madrid, located at San Fernando School, Carretera de Colmenar Viejo, Km 13,600 (Vía de Servicio), 28049 Madrid (attached is a map in pdf format).
