Open Call for Entries to the Intergenerational UAW Entrepreneurship Program (Portugal).

In 2013, the Fernando Pombo Foundation joined efforts with the Social Innovation Bank in Lisbon, an initiative created by the Santa Casa da Misericórdia of Lisbon in which public institutions, companies and other organizations collaborate with the goal of promoting social innovation through innovative projects that support business.

The foundation participates in three of the projects that the Social Innovation Bank has started:

• The INOVA Project (Intended for the youngest ones).

• The project of comprehensive consultancy services for the social entrepreneur.

• The Intergenerational UAW Entrepreneurship Program.

During the month of April, the application period for the Intergenerational UAW Entrepreneurship Program will be open.

Eligible candidates include, on the one hand, young people with a higher education degree under 30 who are unemployed or are searching for their first job. And, on the other hand, unemployed individuals between the ages of 50 and 64 who are highly qualified and have professional experience are also invited to apply.

The objective of the program is to foster the creation of businesses formed by young people and experienced individuals through the innovative model of the business initiative. This will ensure the formation of intergenerational teams and will offer a wealth of business opportunities in the areas of social work, health, culture and heritage.

Two-hundred young people and experienced individuals will be selected to form a minimum of 40 intergenerational teams from which 24 teams will be chosen to participate in the program.
